ADKCAP Task Force 'Report Out' Meeting held May 24th, 2010 at The Wild Center
For the past year, members of ADKCAP's six Task Forces have been working on their topic area, including: Buildings and Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Biomass Usage, Forest and Land Management, Transportation, Municipalities, and Tourism. The “Report Out” meeting reconvened them and interested members of the public to share work-to-date, issues and barriers encountered and to outline the next steps. The day included an introduction to the State Climate Action process, a general ADKCAP Project Update, an overview of the New York State Biomass Roadmap and a discussion of ‘The Big Goal’ with Jerry Jenkins of the Wildlife Conservation Society. There was also a tour of The Wild Center’s new wood pellet boiler and solar thermal heating systems. Each Task Force update consisted of a 20 minute presentation, followed by a 10 minute question and answer period. This page provides access to these presentations in Powerpoint format.

The Wild Center
For the past year, members of ADKCAP's six Task Forces have been working on their topic area, including: Buildings and Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Biomass Usage, Forest and Land Management, Transportation, Municipalities, and Tourism. It is time to reconvene as a larger group to share work-to-date, issues and barriers encountered and to outline the next steps. The ultimate goal of the day is to share plans for finalizing the Climate & Energy Action Plan for the Adirondacks sometime in early Fall 2010.
